Cognitive Development Lab @ NYU | Dr. Andrei Cimpian

Our lab explores a range of questions about children's and adults' thinking: How do they make sense of the world and themselves? What motivates them to pursue certain goals and not others, and to stick with a goal even when they encounter difficulties? How do gender and racial/ethnic stereotypes shape people's self-views, aspirations, and behaviors toward others?

We address these and related questions with a wide range of methodologies that include experimental and observational studies, cross-cultural studies, analyses of "big data," natural language processing and text analytics, qualitative content analyses, and systematic reviews and meta-analyses.

You can read a profile on our lab in the American Psychological Association's magazine, Monitor on Psychology
